February 14 ------ The Filipino student, who became viral after singing Sam Smith’s hit song “Too good at goodbyes,” confirmed that he was invited to guest on “The Ellen Show.” Carl Montecido, a student of Bacolod City National High School, recently went viral after he did a cover of “Too good at goodbyes” at a supermarket last Feb. 5. “Ang tumawag sa ‘kin personally is the staff of Ellen. Tinawagan nila ko last week pa so probably mga Feb 8,” Montecido was quoted in a report by GMA News on Thursday. “No’ng simula pa lang mag-viral, may mga PM na sila sa ‘kin,” he added. The Filipino singer said he would prepare to sing more of the foreign songs since he said there will be more international viewers. “So isa pa siguro sa mga paghahanda ko ay aaralin ko ang show, kung ano ba ‘yung mga mechanics do’n, kung ano posibleng gagawin do’n,” Montecido said.
Meanwhile, British singer Sam Smith and international celebrities were impressed to his viral video that garnered more than 10 million views on Facebook and almost 300,000 retweets on Twitter.
