
March 4 ------ Reigning The Miss Globe 2024 Diana Moreno of Colombia marked Women’s Month with a message of empowerment and courage. The Latina beauty queen is in the country as part of her ongoing Asian tour, that already saw her in four other countries, with another one already scheduled after the Philippines. She arrived in Manila, the first day of March. INQUIRER.net sat with Moreno for an interview at the presidential suite of the Novotel Manila Araneta City in Quezon City, where she discussed her reign, as well as her message to all the women around the globe for this month’s celebration. “We are powerful, and we can make a difference in this world. You can be everything, so believe in yourself and never give up,” said Moreno, who won her title in a competition held in Albania last year.
She was reunited with her second runner-up, Binibining Pilipinas Jasmin Bungay, who welcomed her at the airport, and later joined the rest of the 2024 national queens Myrna Esguerra, Christal Dela Cruz, and Trisha Martinez. Moreno said being The Miss Globe is “life changing,” because “I can learn more about the world. And also I can bring a message for everyone. And it’s amazing, it’s like a dream come true.”
She kicked off her Asian tour with a trip to Nepal in February, then she flew to neighboring India. Southeast Asia was next in her intinerary, with a visit to Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. She is set to fly to Malaysia later today. “I really enjoy everything, my dream is happening right now. I love this journey, so even if I can’t sleep it doesn’t matter, because I’m doing the right thing. I’m meeting children around the world, and this is amazing,” Moreno shared. Aside from spending time with the reigning Bb. Pilipinas queens in Manila, Moreno also met The Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne, and Anna Lakrini who finIshed third in 2023.
The Colombian beauty also experienced the warmth of the Filipino people when she went around the Araneta City, and got expose to pieces of the country’s history and culture with a visit to the Gateway Gallery.
