Team USA's Olympic roster to include major NBA stars

March 3 ------ After a disappointing 2023 FIBA World Cup run, Team USA is seeking redemption through the 2024 Paris Olympics, for which they will seek to construct a roster from arguably the best players of the NBA. According to Shams Chanaria and Joe Vardon of The Athletic, players such as Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum are expected to form the "core of the team barring injury."

It has also been rumored by The Athletic's sources that Tyrese Haliburton and Anthony Edwards are also being considered to make the final roster. They were both in the 2023 World Cup team. In addition, the article purports that the main plan is to rely on Joel Embiid as the team's main center, as they expect him to return from meniscus surgery and be healthy for the Olympics before the end of the NBA regular season.

Nevertheless, the names of Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis are also under consideration for inclusion in the center rotation. It was previously reported that Team USA had a particular fixation on Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics for his "two-way ability, point-of-attack defense and dynamic playmaking." On the other hand, if plans materialize, Stephen Curry will also have his first Olympic adventure in Paris this year.

Last time, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Team USA beat France in the final game with a score of 82-87.
