August 30 ------ Stamp Fairtex has nothing but comforting words to offer Denice Zamboanga. Zamboanga recently made the tough decision to pull out of her ONE Interim Atomweight World Title clash against Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 25, scheduled for October 5 at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The culprit behind her surprising withdrawal is a hamstring injury that requires her to undergo one to two months of therapy before she can engage in any strenuous activity again.
The unfortunate news came as a surprise to many, including Stamp, who shares a deep bond with the Filipina heroine. “I’m sorry to hear about Denice’s injury. I was really excited about Denice’s fight with Alyona. It was a highly anticipated match,” the Thai megastar said,
Stamp and Zamboanga forged their friendship through countless hours spent training together at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand. Over time, their professional relationship blossomed into a genuine rapport, built on mutual respect and shared experiences inside and outside the gym. Though they went their separate ways during the pandemic when Zamboanga left Fairtex, their amity toward each other remained strong.
The two athletes found themselves in an intriguing situation earlier this year when Zamboanga earned a shot at Stamp’s lineal atomweight MMA crown at ONE 167 this past June. However, fate intervened as Stamp had to beg off after sustaining a torn meniscus just two weeks before the encounter.
Understanding the physical and emotional toll that injuries can inflict, Stamp is particularly empathetic to Zamboanga’s condition. The 26-year-old hopes that Zamboanga’s recovery goes smoothly and that she can return to training with renewed vigor. “I heard that she will need to rest for a few months before she can return to training. I hope she recovers quickly and can get back to training soon,” Stamp stated. “Wishing you a speedy recovery, my friend!”
