January 9 ------ “Squid Game” season 2 continued to dominate Netflix for the second straight week since its premiere on Dec. 26. Based on Netflix’s official weekly Global Top 10 list from Dec. 30 to Jan. 5 of the most watched shows and films, “Squid Game” season 2 is No. 1 on the non-English TV list with 58.2 million views or 417.1 million hours viewed. Its total views also made “Squid Game” season 2 the most watched title among all shows and films for the week on Netflix.
In the latest Netflix chart, “Squid Game” season 2 is No. 1 in 91 countries and territories including the US, Philippines, Canada, South Korea, Japan and Vietnam, compared to 92 last week. It is still in the top 10 on Netflix in 93 countries and territories.

Last week, “Squid Game” season 2 debuted on Netflix with 68 million views or 487.6 million hours viewed and smashed records. The interest in “Squid Game” season 2 also catapulted “Squid Game” season 1 to second place this week with 13.6 million views. With total views of 126.2 million from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, “Squid Game” season 2 is now No. 2 on Netflix’s most popular non-English shows “based on the views of each title in its first 91 days.” “Squid Game” season 1, which premiered in September 2021, still holds the record for the most watched title on Netflix with 265.2 million views or 2.2 billion hours viewed in its first 91 days on the platform.
