November 20 ------ "Tawag Ng Tanghalan" alumnus Sofronio Vasquez is now part of the Top 20 of “The Voice USA."
Vasquez advanced to the PlayOffs after he won the 3-way knockout round against Jeremy Beloate, who performed JVKE's "golden hour," and Kiara Vega who sang The Weeknd's "Call Out My Name."
Vasquez ticket to Top 20 was his powerful performance of Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me." "The winner of this knockout is Sofronio," coach Michael Bublé announced.
In his Instagram post on Tuesday morning (Manila time), Vasquez expressed his gratitude being part of the Top 20. Sofronio said he is also honored to work with Bublé and Jennifer Hudson, one of the mentors of "The Voice." "See you at the PlayOffs! TOP 20 na tayo Thank you Lord. So honored to have worked with EGOT @iamjhud and of course my icon @michaelbuble, Thank you so much! #TeamBublé all the way," Sofronio wrote.
Last month, Vasquez won the Battles round on "The Voice USA" against Aliyah Khaylyn. They performed a duet of Celine Dion's "The Power of Love." Last September, he wowed the judges in the latest season of "The Voice" USA," with all four chairs turning during his blind auditions. Vasquez rose to fame as one of the"Tawag Ng Tanghalan" contenders on "It's Showtime," where he reached the semifinals.
