Sofronio Vasquez belts out ‘If I Can Dream,’ aims for ‘The Voice’ US Top 5 spot

December 4 ------ Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez sang his heart out to Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream” during the “The Voice” United States live show, aiming to be part of the final five contestants. Aside from “If I Can Dream,” Vasquez also performed a duet with fellow contestant Jeremy Beloate, singing “Every Breath You Take” with the songwriter himself, Sting, playing the bass.

After his live performances, Vasquez took to his Facebook page to go on live and ask fans to vote for him to be included in the Top 5. “It was super nerve-wracking to do live shows,” he said. “I had the best time with the energy and the video. I just had that specific note,” he continued, referring to an apparent mistake in his performance. “I practiced it well but you know, it’s live, we can’t do anything about it.”

Nonetheless, Vasquez underscored that the love and support he receives from the public keep him confident. He also expressed gratitude to those who include him in their prayers.
