January 20 ------ King’s of P-pop SB19 dominated the 10th Wish Music Awards with two trophies for their group and six titles for their solo efforts. The P-pop members’ “Kalakal” with Gloc-9 was recognized as the Wish Song Collaboration of the Year while “Ilaw” bagged the Ballad Performance of the Year.
"Di Ko Masabi" by Stell won Ballad Song of the Year. The idol was also named the Wisher’s Choice and the Wish Breakthrough Artist. “Super thankful. Hindi ko alam ano words kailangan ko gamitin to express how thankful I am and how happy I am right now. Gusto ko lang pasalamatan lahat ng tao behind this,” Stell said in an interview after the ceremony in Quezon City, Sunday.
The title for Rock/Alternative Song of the Year and Hip-hop Song of the Year went to “Kanako” by Felip and “Get Right” by Josh Cullen respectively. “Meron na talaga kami vision even before, makaambag sa industry, sa P-pop, sa OPM. Ngayon mas tumitibay siya at lumalakas. Nagiiba na, gusto na namin baguhin ang mundo, rather than just ourselves,” Josh explained. Pablo also brought home a new trophy. The group’s leader was honored as the Wish Artist of the Year.
Nation’s Girl Group BINI also won big at the 10th Music Awards. The Kapamilya artists was recognized as the Wish Group of The Year and they also won Pop Song of the Year for “Pantropiko, Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year — “Karera” by BINI. Actor, singer, and OPM president Ogie Alcasid was meanwhile honored as the KDR Icon of Musical Excellence. “I am honored of course. But at the same time I am also inspired. It is so inspiring to see so many musicians, songwriters, recording artists, performers, and all the fans. Noong araw panaginip lang namin to, now it is a reality. I am so happy,” Alcasid said.
