MANILA, Philippines, February 16 ------ SB19, known as the P-Pop Kings, is set to kick off its "Simula at Wakas" world tour in May. The five-member group — Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin — made the announcement Wednesday on social media, unveiling a list of tour stops spanning Asia, North America, and the Middle East.
The tour kicks off in May 31 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan before heading to Taipei, Taiwan, in June. In July, the group will perform in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Temecula, California, as well as Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver in Canada. August stops include Honolulu, Hawaii, and Singapore, followed by performances in Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, and Jeddah in October. SB19 also plans to visit Sydney, Melbourne, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, with dates yet to be announced. The tour announcement follows SB19's Jan. 31 teaser for its upcoming extended play (EP), "Simula at Wakas," the third installment in a trilogy that began with "Pagsibol" (2021) and "Pagtatag!" (2023).
The trailer featured visual and musical callbacks to the group's previous hits, including "What?" and "Gento." The EP is set for release on April 25, preceded by a yet-to-be-titled lead single dropping on Feb. 28. Also known for their songs "Mapa," "Go Up," "Nyebe" and "Crimzone," among many others, SB19 became the first Southeast Asian act to be nominated on the Billboard Music Awards, and the first Southeast Asian act to make an appearance in the top 10 of the Billboard Social 50.
They also won the Best Artist Award (Singer) and the Hot Trend Award at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards and the Favorite Asian Act at the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
