February 16 ------ For Rhed Bustamante, it is her faith in God and the support of her family, friends, and loved ones that help her deal with negativity, saying she would rather focus on the positive impact she can impart on others. Bustamante said it is God, her family, and friends that keep her going during a beauty milk launch event when INQUIRER.net asked how she maintains her youthful glow despite her busy schedule. “Gusto kong sabihin si God. Kasi sa araw-araw, Siya ang lagi kong nalalapitan. Siya ang laging nandyan for me (For me, it’s God. He’s the only one I can approach. He is always there for me). Also my family and friends,” she said.
The actress also recalled a piece of advice she received from a loved one that helped her deal with negativity. “Meron pong nag-advice sa’kin na kahit anong sabihin ng tao sa’yo, as long as alam mo na [walang] ginagawang mali or naaapakang tao, you’re doing great,” she shared when asked about dealing with negative thoughts. “Kung may mababasa or maririnig man akong negative about me, okay lang po ‘yun sa’kin. Iisipin ko na lang na mas okay makatulong sa iba kaysa pansinin ‘yung mga [negativity],” continued Bustamante.
On her career
After the program ended, Bustamante entertained questions from reporters, saying she is happy about the opportunities she has been given in her career. Her schedule has been packed lately, but she’s “really grateful” for the blessings coming her way. “I’m not gonna lie, medyo nahihirapan ako lately. Pero with the help of my friends and family, nakakaya ko naman,” she said, opting to remain mum about the details of her upcoming projects. “It feels great, I didn’t expect any of this. I’m just really grateful na nagkaroon ako ng ganitong opportunity. Hindi naman po [ako masyadong napapagod] because I love doing this,” she further added.
The actress, who is taking up the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand in senior high school, said she is dreaming about working behind the camera someday. “Gusto ko ring ituloy ang career ko na ganito, but [gusto ko na] ako ‘yung behind the scenes,” she said.
