February 23 ------ The Philippines' Krishnah Gravidez is ready to bring her A-game to the 72nd Miss World Festival in India. This after organizers announced that the state of Telangana will host the upcoming competition, which will kick off on May 7. The coronation night is scheduled on May 31.
"Namaste, India! We are on our way to the 72nd Miss World Festival!" Gravidez said in an Instagram post. "My heart is full of gratitude as I embark on this journey, carrying with me the hopes of my people, the love that unites us all, and the deep sense of purpose that guides every step of my path," she added. "Here we are, ready to inspire," Gravidez ended, tagging her non-profit Colors of Kindness which aims to "inspire, empower, and uplift children."
Gravidez went on to share that she is looking forward to traveling to India, saying the country "has always felt close to me because of the warmth of its people." "Since the very beginning of my pageant journey, I have felt their love and support, lifting me up with their kindness," she said. "Now, through the platform of Miss World, I finally have the chance to meet them in person and, most importantly, to immerse myself in the incredible culture that makes this country so special." Gravidez aims to become the Philippines' second Miss World titleholder after Megan Young, who won the crown in 2013.
