No pressure for Dennis Trillo to be MMFF best actor

December 23 ------ Dennis Trillo has made it clear that he’s not letting the pressures of competition dampen his festive spirit at this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), following the best actor buzz he’s receiving for his performance in “Green Bones.”  After the recent special advanced screening of “Green Bones,” critics have listed Trillo as a candidate for this year’s MMFF Best Actor race. Despite this, the actor, at the press conference for the 2024 Parade of Stars, does not want to let that get into his head, as he’s not really vying for the award but to savor the experience.

“Sa totoo lang, mga kaibigan, ngayong Kapaskuhan, ayoko na magpa-presure sa pakikipagpagalingan, o pakikipagpaligsahan, pataasan ng ihi kung kanino man. Gusto ko lang maenjoy ng mga tao ‘yung sampung entries ngayong taon dahil talagang napaka special ‘to. Sigurado akong napakaganda at bilib, mayroong pelikula sa bawat Filipino,” he said. “Green Bones” is helmed by the director Zig Dulay, and written by Angeli Atienza of the award-winning 2023 MMFF entry, “Firefly.”

When asked what’s the difference between the two MMFF movies, which are both produced by GMA Pictures, Atienza underscored that “Green Bones” will offer more values compared to “Firefly” of last year. “Masisiguro lang po namin na binigay namin higit pa sa Firefly last year para po maging worthy of your time ngayong taon. We tried to also make a film with a lot of values na mapapag-usapan at mapag-iisipan paglabas ng sine,” she stated.
