March 10 ------ THE NLEX Road Warriors (NRW) ramped up its community engagement efforts by launching its ‘Dayo’ program earlier this month, with the inaugural leg taking place in Burgos, Ilocos Sur. Dayo, the Filipino word for visit is one of the ways that NLEX and NRW reach out to communities in the north, bringing people together through their love for basketball.
Mayor Nathaniel “Boy” Escobar warmly welcomed the team during the visit which also coincided with the town fiesta celebrations. PBA legend and NLEX star player Asi Taulava and team governor Ronald Dulatre gamely interacted with the local community and shared memorable moments with the fans in the said event. "Dayo aims to foster connections and cultivate stronger relationships with the diverse communities and provinces of North Luzon.
We are also positive that this will inspire the youth, now that we are bringing the NLEX Road Warriors closer to them," said NLEX President and General Manager, J. Luigi L. Bautista. Bautista also expressed his enthusiasm for the first Dayo this year, stating, "This is our way of giving back to the community. We believe in the power of sports to unite, inspire and make a positive impact in the communities we visit."
The program is one of NLEX’s and NRW’s initiatives to demonstrate its commitment to community development and promoting a positive impact beyond basketball.
