MANILA, PHILIPPINES, February 9 ------ The first 3 cast members include GMA actors Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho. GMA unveiled the first 3 members of the Voltes V: Legacy cast on Monday, February 8, during the telecast on 24 Oras. Playing the role of Mark Gordon is Radson Flores, who participated in the reality show Starstruck in 2019. Radson also appeared in GMA shows such as Pepito Manaloto and Dear Uge.
In Voltes V: Legacy, Mark pilots the Volt Bomber and is known to be a good horseback rider. Meanwhile, playing the role of Big Bert Armstrong is singer-songwriter Matt Lozano. Matt first gained prominence as the winner of the "Spogify featuring Singing Baes" segment of Eat Bulaga. Big Bert is the second eldest of the Armstrong brothers and pilots the Volt Panzer.
Playing the role of Little Jon Armstrong is Raphael Landicho. Raphael is known for his role as Ethan, the son of Jessie (Max Collins) and Brylle Alejandro (Jason Abalos), in the 2019 teleserye Bihag. In the show, Little Jon is the youngest of the Armstrong brothers and is considered by many as a genius at a young age. He pilots the Volt Frigate. Other cast members, including those who will play Steve Armstrong, Jamie Robinson, and the Boazanian empire, will be announced this week.
GMA first gave a sneak peek into the live-action series during its 2020 New Year's Eve countdown. Another teaser was shown in January, this time giving a glimpse of the Boazanian empire attacking Earth. Mark Reyes, who directed Encantadia, Mystified, and Beautiful Justice, is the director of the project. Voltes V: Legacy is based on the Chōdenji Machine Voltes V series, a Japanese anime that aired in parts of the world in the '70s. The show gained success in the Philippines and had been aired several times both in English and Filipino.
GMA has yet to announce Voltes V: Legacy's airing date.
