February 13 ------ Filipino-German beauty queen Maureen Wroblewitz penned a heartfelt message to her younger self in an emotional social media post, reflecting on her past struggles and journey to self-growth. Hopping on the TikTok trend “I Met My Younger Self for Coffee,” the Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 winner imagined a meeting with the younger version of herself, who appeared to be sad. “I met my younger self today. She was sad. I told her that I know things are hard right now, but it will get better, I promise. She told me that if she died, no one would miss her. I assured her that if she just opened up about what she was feeling, she would discover how much her family truly cares about her,” continued the beauty queen.
Wroblewitz recalled more difficult moments that her past self had to endure, including losing her mother, as she urged her younger self to not give up.“She told me that she couldn’t take it anymore. I told her not to give up on herself because all her dreams would come true. She didn’t believe me. I said that if she just believed in herself, she would realize that anything she sets her mind to is possible,” she expressed.
“She started crying. I said that even if Mom is no longer with us, she is still watching over you. Don’t forget about Dad; he’ll be your number one fan. We hugged; I told her that I love her and reminded her that I always have her back. I hope we meet again soon,” the model-beauty queen concluded her post. “This was beautiful and so heartfelt. Know that a lot of people are proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself too,” wrote one IG user. “You’ve become the person who would have protected you as a child. And that’s the most powerful thing you’ve done. Keep Slaying Queen,” said another netizen.
Wroblewitz, who rose to fame after becoming the first Filipina to win “Asia’s Next Top Model,” once again put on her Philippine sash as she made a recent appearance on the pageantry episode of the American police procedural series “FBI: Most Wanted.”
