January 28 ------ Matthew Wright and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders were successful against AJ Edu and Nagasaki Velca in their latest faceoff in the 2024-205 Season of the Japan B.League. Wright delivered eight points, two rebounds, a steal, and a block, and these were enough as the Brave Thunders outlasted Velca, 83-78, at the Happiness Arena for their 10th victory in 32 games. They remained in eighth place in the Central Division following this result.
On the other hand, Edu was quiet, only tallying three points, three rebounds, and two assists, and these did not help as they absorbed their 19th defeat in 32 outings while also falling to sixth in the Western Division. Unfortunately for the Pinoy imports, the rest of them were also handed losses in their latest games. Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido, coming off a victory in their previous outing, were dumped by Alvark Tokyo, 78-72, at the Hokkai Kita-yale.
Ramos posted 16 points with six rebounds, a steal, an assist, and a block, but these weren’t enough as they fell to their 21st loss in 32 games which is only good for sixth place in the Eastern Division. Ray Parks Jr. and Osaka Evessa were also tripped on Sunday, as they were defeated by the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, 102-94, at the Dolphins Arena. The National University product impressed with 23 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and a steal, but unfortunately, they now sit again at .500 with a 16-16 record, third in the Western Division.
Lastly, Roosevelt Adams and the Yamagata Wyverns were also on the losing end, faltering against Altiri Chiba, 92-83, at the Chiba Port Arena. The former TerraFirma Dyip scattered eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks, two assists, and a steal in the loss that sent them to 12-22, sixth in the Eastern Division.
