MANILA, March 21 ------ Seafarers can now schedule an appointment for services of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) through the eGovPH mobile app following the agency’s integration with the government portal. MARINA’s integration with eGovPH is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directives to digitalize government services to enhance transparency, efficiency, and public service.
In a statement yesterday, MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan said these services include appointments for the Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) and Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID). “This integration is not just about convenience -- it’s about empowering our seafarers with digital solutions that streamline processes and enhance accessibility,” Malaluan said.
The integration with the mobile app, she said, simplifies application procedures, reduces waiting times, and provides a seamless user experience. “Our seafarers play a crucial role in the global economy. By embracing digital innovations like this, we not only recognize their contributions but also strengthen our support for them,” she said. “The agency remains steadfast in its mission to innovate and elevate services, ensuring that Filipino seafarers continue to set the gold standard in maritime excellence worldwide.”
The eGovPH mobile app, developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), is the government’s ‘one-stop-shop’ digital platform that aims to unify all government services. The app, available for download on Google Play, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery, provides online access to public services such as providing a digital ID, access to both national and local government services, as well as online reporting of crimes and other concerns to relevant authorities.
