Margielyn Didal proves she's back by ruling Buenos Aires skate event

November 12 ------ MARGIELYN Didal returned to the podium over the weekend by ruling the Red Bull Buenos Aires Conquest women’s event in Brazil. “Margie’s back” was the caption of the Red Bull Skate Instagram account in sharing the news of Didal’s victory.

The Brazil victory marks a special milestone for Didal, who suffered a big dip in form while battling an ankle injury for years. The Cebuana skateboarder captured a gold in the women’s street of the 2018 Asian Games and qualified for the same event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she showed promise by placing seventh.

However, injuries, particularly a fractured ankle she sustained in 2022, prevented the 25-year-old Didal from returning to the Olympics in Paris. Didal still competed in the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year but was visibly hobbling, finishing last in the event where she was the defending champion.
