April 29 ------ PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru will discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral ties and exchanges between Manila and Tokyo. He would kick off his visit with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument in Manila before proceeding to Malacanang for his bilateral meeting with the President and an official banquet in his honor.

The Prime Minister and his spouse, Mrs. Ishiba Yoshiko, would be personally welcomed by the President and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and accorded arrival honors. It would be followed by an expanded bilateral meeting between the two leaders and their respective Cabinets, where they are expected to talk about economic and development cooperation, political and defense engagements, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

Marcos and Ishiba are also expected to exchange views on regional and global developments and explore new pathways towards peace and stability under the “Strengthened Strategic Partnership” between the two countries.
