Marcial set for homecoming match against Thai boxer

MANILA, March 2 ------ Eumir Marcial will be set for a homecoming fight as he continues his preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.  The Olympic bronze medalist will be going up against Thailand’s Thoedsak Sinam on March 23 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, he announced on his social media account. “The moment that I’ve been waiting for,” the 5-foot-11 hitter penned. To all the Filipino boxing fans out there I am inviting you all to join and support me in my homecoming fight against a veteran Thailand boxer Thoedsak Sinam in a super-middleweight fight,” he said.

Marcial previously went to the United States to ramp up his training for summer’s Paris Games wherein he will be locking horns against some of his best international counterparts. Among those on the list are Oleksandr Khyzkniak of Ukraine, Toqtarbek Tanatqan of China, two-time Olympic gold medalist Arlen Lopez of Cuba, Callum Peters of Australia, and Abdelrahman Oraby of Egypt.

Following the bout, the 28-year-old, who is training under the guidance of coach Kay Koromo, will be returning back to the States to resume his build-up for the Olympics.
