On December 3, 2024, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) hosted a graduation ceremony for its second batch of Equeserions Class of 2024. It was held at Kamaya Point, Alas-Asin, Mariveles Bataan. These graduates comprised 222 graduates, including 13 midshipwomen.
The ceremony began with an invocation, led by Father Gerard Cuenca, who blessed the event and offered a prayer to mark the occasion. Dr. Conrado F. Oca, President of the Associated Marine Officers and Seaman's Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) and MAAP Chairman, delivered the opening remarks. He welcomed the guests, sponsors, shipping company partners, parents, and graduates, expressing his gratitude for the support provided by parents and leaders throughout the graduates' academic journey. He also praised MAAP for its recognition as one of the top maritime schools in the world.
Captain Daniel S. Torres Jr., the MAAP Dean of Academics, introduced the Equeserion Class of 2024 graduates. Vice Admiral Eduardo Ma R. Santos, President of MAAP, officially conferred degrees upon the graduates. Lieutenant Vincent T. Larida, PN (Philippine Navy), read the commissioning orders and congratulated the graduates on their achievements.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from the Guest of Honor, Hon. Sonia B. Malaluan, Administrator of the Maritime Industry Authority, who commended the graduates for their hard work and dedication in pursuing careers in the maritime sector. She emphasized, "You are not just a group of young professionals; you are the future of the Philippine Maritime Industry."
