Lumpia Queen Abi Marquez nominated for Webby Awards 2025

April 4 ------ Abi Marquez, famously known as Lumpia Queen, has been nominated for her second consecutive Webby Award. According to the award giving body’s website, Abi is nominated under the Creators – Individual Creator Food & Drink category, alongside fellow online food personalities Babish Culinary Universe, Jeremy Scheck, Olivia Teidemann, and Joshua Weissman.Â

Abi is up for two honors: The Webby Award, selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS); and the Webby People’s Voice Award, which is won by public voting.Â

The Webby Awards is set to hold its 29th edition this year. It is the leading international award honoring the best of internet creators and content. Voting for the Webby People’s Voice Award is open until April 17. Winners will be announced on April 22, and the awards ceremony will be on May 12 in New York City.Â

In 2024, Abi became the first Filipino, born and raised in the Philippines, to win a Webby. She was named the People’s Voice Winner in the General Social: Food & Drink Category. “This is a celebration of Filipino food, talent, and the hard work of so many people. Grateful beyond words for the chance to fly to New York, represent our country, and cherish this moment as a core memory. THIS IS OUR WIN," she said after her win. She was also nominated for the prestigious James Beard 2024 Media Awards’ social media account category.Â

Additionally, Abi was among the seven Filipinos in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2024. Abi gained popularity for her recipe videos, most of which turn recipes like sinigang and beef wellington into lumpia. She has also collaborated with top names in the food and showbiz industry, like Gordon Ramsay, Uncle Roger, and Saweetie.Â
