LRT, MRT, PNR extends operating hours on Dec. 20-23




MANILA, Philippines, December 20 ----- Railway services in Metro Manila will have extended hours from December 20 to 23, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced. Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said the extended operating hours of trains is in response to the Department of Transportation’s commitment to meet the needs of passengers during the Christmas rush. “Sa pagpunta ng mga tao sa mga party, reunion at iba pang gathering, ating ipalasap ang Christmas spirit na pagbibigay ng kasiyahan sa pamamagitan ng komportable, ligtas, at maaasahang transportasyon sa mga tren,” said Bautista in a statement. 

  

MRT-3 

In Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), the last trip at North Avenue Station will be extended to 10:30 p.m. from 9:30 p.m.., while the last trip from Taft Avenue will be at 11:05 p.m. 

  

LRT-1 

Meanwhile, in Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) from December 20 to 22, the last trip leaving Baclaran Station is at 10:45 p.m., while the last train from Fernando Poe Jr. Station will be at 11:00 p.m. On December 23, the last train is scheduled to depart from Baclaran and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., respectively. Operations will then be shortened on Christmas Eve, December 24, where the last train will leave Baclaran Station at 8:00 p.m. while the last train from Fernando Poe Jr. Station will leave at 8:15 p.m. 

  

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, the last train from Baclaran Station will leave at 7:00 p.m., and at 7:15 p.m. from Fernando Poe. Jr. Station. No changes were made in the first trip for both northbound and southbound trips of LRT-1 which start at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays and 5:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays.  

  

LRT-2 

In Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) From December 20 to 23, the last trip in Antipolo Station will be at 10 p.m., while the last trip from Recto Station will be 10:30 p.m. 

  

PNR 

Philippine National Railways (PNR) also adjusted its schedule for operations on the said dates.
