Kiefer Ravena instrumental in Yokohama's back-to-back wins

March 4 ------ KIEFER Ravena came out strong for Yokohama B-Corsairs as they swept their weekend series after the FIBA break. The former UAAP MVP was instrumental in Yokohama’s pair of victories over SunRockers Shibuya at Yokohama International Pool.

He first uncorked eight points, three assists, and two rebounds in their 71-68 win on Saturday before also nabbing 10 points, three assists, and two boards in their 75-62 conquest on Sunday to hike their record to 16-23. Matthew Wright also played big for Kawasaki Brave Thunders in their 96-78 stunner over the Hiroshima Dragonflies at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena. He uncorked 24 points, on top of a pair of rebounds and assists to help his side move up to 13-26. That more than made up for Wright’s paltry five-point showing in their 92-66 loss a day prior.

Ray Parks also kept Osaka Evessa over .500 as the Evessa gained the 74-60 win over Shimane Susanoo Magic at Ookini Arena Maishima on Saturday. He fired 10 points, five boards, three assists, a steal, and a block in the victory that gave the home team a 20-19 slate. This also atoned for Osaka’s 85-68 loss on Friday where Parks had 17 points, five rebounds, and one assist.

AJ Edu also helped Nagasaki Velca redeem themselves with an 89-85 upset of Ryukyu Golden Kings on Sunday at Happiness Arena. The Gilas Pilipinas big man only had two points, but grabbed six rebounds as well as two steals and one assist in 16 minutes of play to improve the Velca’s standing to 17-22. This came after a 93-74 defeat to the same squad a day before where Edu registered six points, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.

Winless this weekend was Dwight Ramos as his Levanga Hokkaido incurred a pair of defeats to powerhouse Utsunomiya Brex at Brex Arena. His 7-point, 7-rebound effort was not enough as the visitors absorbed the 81-64 loss on Saturday. He hiked his scoring to 10 points, as well as collecting three rebounds and three assists in their 98-91 defeat on Sunday to fall to a 13-26 record.
