Kevin Quiambao fires 17 in the Skygunners' bounce back KBL win




February 11 ------ KEVIN Quiambao presided over Goyang Sono Skygunners’ 76-63 win over Seoul Samsung Thunders at Jamsil Arena in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). The Gilas Pilipinas forward produced a team-best 17 points alongside five rebounds and six assists as the Skygunners bounced back from their 77-63 defeat to the same team last Friday. This also enabled Goyang Sono to rise to a 12-25 record. 

  

Justin Gutang nabbed six points, three boards, and two assists in the Thunders’ loss as they drop at the cellar with the same 12-25 card. Carl Tamayo was also instrumental in Changwon LG Sakers’ 83-78 clipping of Busan KCC Egis on Saturday at Busan Sajik Arena. He chimed in 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the triumph which pushed his side to a tie for second place with their 23-14 slate. Meanwhile, SJ Belangel’s Daegu KOGAS Pegasus suffered a close 69-66 defeat to Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus on Saturday at Daegu Gymnasium. 

  

The former Ateneo guard logged 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists in the loss to slip to 20-17. Migs Oczon only had three points in 14 minutes of play for the 23-14 Ulsan. JD Cagulangan was also checked in Suwon KT Sonicboom’s 85-74 loss to Seoul SK Knights, 85-74, at Suwon KT Arena on Sunday. 

  

The UAAP Season 87 Finals MVP only registered five points, three assists, and one rebound in 29 minutes of play as the home team slid to 21-17. Suwon could not make it back-to-back wins after earning an 83-76 win over Wonju DB Promy a day prior, where Cagulangan scored 10, on top of four assists, three steals, and one board. Ethan Alvano contributed 12 points, 10 assists, and five boards in this Wonju loss to go down to 16-21 as it finds itself in the midst of a five-game slide.
