March 5 ------ Unbeaten prospect Kenneth Llover is nearing his peak as he prepares for his biggest fight to date for the OPBF bantamweight title against Keita Kurihara on March 24 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Llover, 13-0 with 8 knockouts, showcased his form in front of the media earlier today at Penalosa Sports Center in Paranaque, where he sparred eight rounds before hitting the speedball and double-end bag before wrapping it up with jump rope and shadowboxing. "Every training [session], there is that dedication to win the OPBF bantamweight championship," Llover told a group of reporters. "He has not fought anyone like me. He fought flat-footed [opponents] who stood up in front of him. What happens when he takes on someone like me who can move and can grind it out, that is where I can say that he will be tested against me." he added.
Kurihara has more fights and holds a pretty impressive knockout ratio. With a record of 19-8-1 with 16 knockouts, the Japanese has the advantage in terms of experience and a home crowd cheering for him on fight night. For Llover, sticking to his game plan is key in keeping his perfect record. "If I can go toe-to-toe, I will, but there would still be discipline and focus on the game plan. I predict this will be a good fight, and if there is an opportunity to knock him out, I will go for a finish," Llover said.
