Kapamilya stars shine bright at the 7th Gawad Lasallianeta Awards




MANILA, January 28 ------ Kapamilya stars and programs took center stage at the 7th Gawad Lasallianeta Awards held Monday at De La Salle Araneta University. Among the big winners was Kathryn Bernardo, who was named Most Influential Celebrity and Most Outstanding Film Actress for her role in "Hello, Love, Again," a collaboration between ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA Pictures.

 

Donny Pangilinan was awarded Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. Although unable to attend the event, he expressed his gratitude in a video message, saying: “Thank you for this award. It’s such an honor, and I’m very, very sad na wala ako dyan, but hopefully, I get to see you guys one day.” Meanwhile, Jodi Sta. Maria was recognized as Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her outstanding performances, further cementing her legacy as one of the country’s finest talents. Melai Cantiveros brought home the award for Most Outstanding Comedienne, while Vice Ganda added another feather to her cap as Most Outstanding Variety Show Host. Their show, "It’s Showtime," also won Most Outstanding Variety Show. "It’s Showtime" child star Argus Aspiras was named Most Outstanding Child Star.  Overjoyed, Argus shared, “Sobrang saya po, thank you po! Gusto ko po maging Hall of Fame.”

 

The spotlight also shone on Nation’s Girl Group BINI, who bagged the Most Outstanding OPM Artist award. Kapamilya news personalities also garnered top honors. Rico Hizon was named one of the recipients of the Green Zeal for Excellence as a Lasallian Public Communicator Award. "I’m very proud to receive this award. It gives me a bigger responsibility and commitment to report news that is balanced, fair, and unbiased to our viewers nationally and internationally," said Hizon. Pia Gutierrez was awarded Most Outstanding Female News Correspondent. Grateful for the recognition, she said: “Sobrang nakakataba ng puso na makatanggap ng ganitong pagkilala kasi tayo nagtatrabaho hindi para sa award.”

 

Veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez also won Most Outstanding Magazine Show Host for her show Rated Korina. Reflecting on her career, she shared, “I was practically born in ABS-CBN, and I am very happy na bumalik din ako. It will always be with ABS-CBN, even if I am a citizen of the world now.”

 

ABS-CBN’s news division also triumphed, with TV Patrol named Most Outstanding News Show and ABS-CBN News crowned Most Outstanding Online News Media. Editorial Head Miranda De Quiros received the latter award, emphasizing the commitment of ABS-CBN journalists to provide credible and balanced news every day. “Nagpapasalamat tayo sa La Salle for giving us this award. Pinaghirapan ‘to ng mamahayag ng ABS-CBN, araw araw lumalabas tayo, pumapasok sa opisina sa mga beat natin, nagsisikap tayo na kunin ang balita para maiparating sa mga tao and commitment naman ng ABS-CBN is to always give the public credible, fair and balanced news,” she said. The blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Again” was honored as Most Outstanding Filipino Film. Kapuso actor Alden Richards and co-writer Crystal San Miguel accepted the award on behalf of the production team.

 

Capping off, ABS-CBN received the prestigious Hall of Fame Award for Most Outstanding Media Company in the Philippines. The award was received by Kane Errol Choa, Vice President of Integrated Corporate Communications, and Yayen Sulit, Head of Internal Communications and Corporate PR.
