March 28 ------ Kakai Bautista shared her reasons for embracing singlehood at the moment, emphasizing that being single has allowed her to fully enjoy her time, freedom, and hard-earned money. In an interview on Your Honor with Tuesday Vargas and Buboy Villar, Kakai said that choosing to be single has brought her a new sense of calm and control over her life. "Choice ko talaga kasi para sa akin, ngayon ko lang nai-enjoy 'yung time ko for myself. Ngayon ko nai-enjoy ang pera ko, ngayon ko nai-enjoy 'yung buhay ko na medyo kalmado na lahat, nakakaluwag na," she stated.
Kakai explained that her past relationships took a toll on her emotional and mental well-being, and now she's making the most of her independence. "Kasi imagine ninyo, sa mga naging relasyon natin dati, aminin naman natin time, money, lahat, effort, 'yung mental health natin laging nakasalalay, emotional health natin... So sobra kong ini-enjoy 'yung mag-isa lang ako," she said.
The comedienne also admitted that unresolved trauma from past relationships played a role in her decision. "Siguro isa rin sa dahilan 'yung mga trauma ko sa mga love life ko dati," she confessed. While Kakai is open to the idea of love, she shared that she's now more cautious and takes red flags seriously. "Tapos ngayon kunwari may 'yung flirting- flirting, lumiligaw-ligaw... kumbaga pinagi-isipan kong mabuti, so ju-jump ako dun sa emotion pero kapag ka meron ng isang red flag, goodbye agad. Not unless nag-invest na ako talaga ng malala pero 'yung mga dumadaan-daan lang, goodbye na agad," she said.
Kakai shared that after every relationship, she intentionally takes time before getting into a new one. "Ako, pagka may jowa ako, laging mahaba 'yung pagitan. Ang pagitan ko three years, minsan two years... Choice ko lagi na matagal," she explained. Kakai added: "Choice ko na talaga na maging single, hanggang ngayon, choice ko lang."
