Kai, Dwight in town; Edu, Tamayo to follow suit for Gilas' home games




November 13 ------ TWO of the B. League boys are now in the country, while two other overseas players are expected to follow suit ahead of Gilas Pilipinas' campaign in the November qualifiers of the FIBA Asia Cup. Big man Kai Sotto and guard Dwight Ramos are now in town while ÀJ Edu and guard Carl Tamayo are expected to follow suit in the coming days, according to team manager Richard Del Rosario.


"Si Kai and Dwight andito na," said Del Rosario on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament where he also serves as a deputy of Olsen Racela at Perpetual Help. "AJ will be arriving on the 13th, and Carl is on the 15th."


Tamayo will follow the team at the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna for its training camp starting on Friday as he still has a game with the Changwon LG Sakers in the Korean Basketball League. Of the four, the 6-foot-10 Edu will be playing for the first time with Tim Cone as head coach.


The national team will play against New Zealand on Nov. 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena followed by Hong Kong on the 24th. It is currently tied with the Tall Blacks on top of Group B on similar 2-0 records.
