June Mar Fajardo wins 11th BPC award; RHJ is Best Import




November 5 ------ RONDAE Hollis-Jefferson of TNT and June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel captured the top individual awards in the PBA 49th Season Governors' Cup. Hollis-Jefferson beat rival Justin Brownlee of Barangay Ginebra for the Best Import award while Fajardo won an unprecedented 11th Best Player of the Conference honor despite SMB's failure to reach the championship series.

 

The awards were given before Game Four of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between TNT and Barangay Ginebra. Hollis-Jefferson won his second Best Import award by topping the statistical race with 663 and media votes with 491. The TNT reinforcement was second in the players votes with 67 for a total of 1221 points value. Brownlee was a close second with 947, finishing in first place in the players votes with 93, and second in both statistics with 588, and media votes with 266.

 

Fajardo ended his vacation in Cebu to receive the Best Player honor, which has as a timely tonic after San Miguel failed to reach the finals when it was ousted by Ginebra at the Final Four stage. The eight-time PBA MVP topped the statistical race with a points value of 465, and media votes with 476, and was second in player votes with 48 for a total of 989.

 

Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra placed second with 664 after placing first in the players votes (77 points value), second in the media votes (252), and fourth in the statistical race (335).
