Judy Ann Santos gives encouragement to son Lucho after soccer tilt

September 22 ------ Judy Ann Santos offered uplifting words to her son, Lucho, after his team fell short of clinching the championship in a recently concluded soccer competition in Malaysia.

The award-winning actress took to Instagram to express how proud she is of the 12-year-old athlete, who served as his team’s captain. Lucho and his teammates represented the Philippines and the Arayat Football Club in the under-14 category of the LaLiga Youth Tournament. The under-14 category featured an all-Malaysian final. “My boy, my captain.. I am so proud of you.. though we weren’t able to bring home the trophy for your age group, you did so well… you and your team fought so hard in all 4 games, playing against other u14 teams,” wrote the 45-year-old entrepreneur, who can be heard enthusiastically cheering on her son in the video she uploaded.

Santos, who also shared several snaps from the event, reminded the young athlete to look at life beyond winning, and reiterated how proud she is of Lucho and his team’s performance in the three-day tournament. “In losing, you learn.. you gain experience and come back stronger. Life is not just about the [winning].. it’s also about the learnings, experiences, new friends made and lots of memories. I am proud of you and your team no matter what the outcome is. [heart emojis] I love you,” she said.

The mother-and-son duo flew to Malaysia last week without the rest of their family. In a previous post, Santos shared that it was a first for them “to leave Manila without dada and the girls,” referring to TV host-actor Ryan Agoncillo and their daughters Yohan and Luna.
