Ivy Lacsina leads from the front as Nxled picks up first PVL win

March 13 ------ NXLED picked up its first victory of the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign over a winless Galeries Tower side, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15 at the PhilSports Arena. Ivy Lacsina lit up both ends of the floor in her best outing as a Chameleon to date with 17 points and 11 excellent digs. Nxled improved to 1-3 (win-loss) as a maiden win remained elusive for Galeries Tower at 0-4.

"As Coach Taka (Minowa) said, hindi kami pwedeng manigurado because also Galeries is such a strong team and they also gained a lot of great players. For us mentally, it was more on getting it point by point, set by set, and then the entire game so I can say it's a team effort," said Nxled captain Dani Ravena, who posted 10 digs and seven receptions. "We're happy na at least, hopefully, this is just the beginning of a lot of wins to come." he added.

Amid her recovery from a preseason right knee sprain, Lacsina not only topscored in the Chameleons' breakthrough victory but was also a strong defensive presence alongside Ravena against Galeries Tower, who had 35 total attacks. Nxled mainstays Lycha Ebon and Camille Victoria shared the scoring load with Lacsina, combining for 25 markers ahead of their sister-club battle with Akari on Saturday at Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Meanwhile, the Highrisers relied on Ysa Jimenez (eight points) and RJ Doromal (seven points). The team has yet to win a single set in the tournament.
