After the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) held graduation rites for the second batch of the Dracarheas Class of 2022, the International Mariners’ Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) and Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC), through the IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc., hosted a celebratory luncheon at the Mess Hall of the Capt. Gregorio S. Oca Bldg., MAAP Campus, Mariveles, Bataan.
The emcees started the program by introducing the guests and sponsors present for the occasion. Some of the notable guests were IMMAJ Chairman, Mr. Toshihito Inoue, IMMAJ Vice-Chairman, Capt. Tomoyuki Koyama, IMMAJ Secretary General, Mr. Ryoichi Ikeda, PJMCC President, Capt. Emmanuel Regio , K. Line Maritime Academy Philippines, Inc. President, Capt. Edgardo T. Baratang, K. Line Maritime Academy Philippines, Inc. Senior Executive Officer, Capt. Akihiro Fujimaru, Misuga Management Services, Inc. President, Mr. Keita Okajima and Splash Philippines, Inc. President, CE Lorenzo A. Estrada II.
Captain Gerry T. Chan then shared a few words, imparting his gratitude towards the parents and family members who joined the graduates during one of the most important days of their lives. He then introduced the speakers.
On behalf of PJMCC, Capt. Emmanuel L. Regio delivered a brief message, honoring the success of the graduates and offering his blessings. He shared his hopes for the bright future of the graduates as new professionals of the Maritime Industry. Mr. Toshihito Inoue was the next speaker, representing IMMAJ. He encouraged the graduates to learn from their failures but to keep going even through the tough challenges that will face them, imparting his gratitude towards the parents who supported the graduates.
Afterwards, Cadet Dominador III Carunugan imparted a short speech, representing all the graduates. He relayed that throughout their journey, the graduates learned to embody competence, loyalty and honor. He concluded by extending his gratitude towards the sponsors, his fellow graduates and their family. A video presentation from the graduates was then shown on the projector screen. Cadets from different companies gave their thanks and saluted the sponsors.
Finally, Capt. Regio and Mr. Inoue handled the distribution of special awards to the graduates. A photo opportunity followed, with all the sponsors joining in to mark the occasion, concluding the luncheon ceremony for the IMMAJ, PJMCC scholars from the 2nd batch of Dracarheas class graduates of 2022.
