February 20 ------ GMA Network has been named the TV Station of the Year at Trinity University Asia's 10th Platinum Stallion National Media Awards. According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," several Kapuso programs and personalities from News, Public Affairs, and Entertainment also bagged trophies for their excellence in their craft.
"24 Oras" won the Best News Program and its anchor Vicky Morales was hailed as the Female News Anchor of the Year. "Especially now it's an election year kaya napakahalaga ng pagpapalaganap ng mahusay na pagbabalita kasi ang balita may kapangyarihang makapagpabago ng buhay, makapagbago ng future nating lahat kaya mahalaga talaga na pahalagahan natin kaya every award like this is an inspiration," Morales said.
GMA Regional TV was also recognized as the Regional TV Network of the Year for the eight straight year. "This recognition inspires us to always be better knowing that you are there keeping an eye on our work and knowing that we part of your daily lives," said Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, GMA Network Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy.
