Gilas stays at No. 34 in Fiba rankings after losses to NZ, Taipei

March 9 ------ GILAS Pilipinas stayed at No. 34 in the latest FIBA Men world ranking released after the February international window. The Philippines was able to maintain its ranking despite losses to Chinese Taipei and New Zealand in Window 3 of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers.

Chinese Taipei's 93-84 win over the Philippines last February 20, however, enabled them to jump from 79 to 75 in the rankings, the highest mover in the Asia zone from nations in the Top 100. New Zealand remained at No. 22 in the world even after its 87-70 victory over Gilas last February 23 that gave the Tall Blacks the top spot in Group B of the qualifiers.

Asian country Mongolia became the biggest riser overall, jumping seven places from 109 to 102 after a victory over Jericho Cruz and Guam during the qualifiers last February 20.
