Metro Manila, July 27 ----- Residents of Marikina City were advised to prepare for evacuation on Thursday morning as the first alarm was raised as the Marikina River water level rises due to continuous rains from Typhoon Egay. The water level in Marikina River rose to 15.1 meters at 6 a.m. Thursday.
There are no storm signals raised over Metro Manila, but the state weather bureau said moderate to heavy rainshowers are experienced in Marikina.
Typhoon Egay is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, but another low pressure area is expected to intensify and enter the country's monitoring area soon.
