February 10 ------ NXLED finally snapped a league-worst 15-game skid over Galeries Tower — the same team it last won against in July — 25-20, 19-25, 25-14, 25-23 in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena. EJ Laure had her best game in her new home of roughly three months with 19 points on 14 attacks and five blocks, along with nine digs and eight receptions. The two-year-old club’s third-ever foreign coach Ettore Guidetti was also gifted his first PVL victory to draw level with Galeries Tower in the team standings at 1-8.
The Chameleons’ last PVL win was in last year’s Reinforced Conference in five sets against their fellow cellar-dwellers in the Highrisers. Galeries Tower still hasn’t won a match since its trip to Cebu last November against Capital1, extending its ongoing skid to four. The team's leading scorer Chiara Permentilla and newlywed May Luna-Lumahan also stuffed the scoresheets in the win with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Jho Maraguinot paced the skidding Highrisers' eighth loss this conference with 14 points, seven receptions and five digs.
It was a worthwhile wait for the Chameleons after months of almosts and what-ifs. Luna-Lumahan bared how it even came to a point in which the team began questioning whether a win would be within reach this conference amid countless strokes of bad luck and tribulations. At least for now, the Nxled veteran is glad to have breathed a huge sigh of relief. "Worth it yung paghihintay and of course worth it yung pagod namin every day kasi mahirap talaga magtraining na puro ka talo. Parang kailan ba kami mananalo? Or mananalo ba kami today sa game? Worth it yung paghihintay and pagod namin lahat," said Luna-Lumahan. "(Hinahanap lang namin) 'yung maayos na galaw kasi 'yung panalo, darating din 'yun. Nagsabay-sabay lang din talaga kami (ngayon)."
