Eala routs Tunisian foe in Jasmin Open Monastir

MANILA, Philippines, October 16 ------ Fresh off bronze medal finishes in the Hangzhou Asian Games, Alex Eala dominated in her return to professional play, making quick work of Tunisia’s Feryel Ben Hassen, 6-1, 6-0, in the Jasmin Open Monastir in Tunisia. Eala’s win led her to barge into the next round of the qualifiers for the tournament. The Filipina tennister scored the breezy win as she took just 50 minutes to dismantle her opponent.

The World No. 194 Eala simply dominated her opponent, as Ben Hassen could not handle the strong performance of the Asiad medalist. Next up for Eala is France’s Elsa Jacquemot.

The 20-year-old Jacquemot is seeded third in the qualifying round of the tournament. She is currently ranked 172nd in the world. The two are scheduled to play for a chance to crack the main draw of the tournament.
