November 11 ------ CHOCO Mucho will be without one of its mainstays for, at least, the next month. Setter Deanna Wong will not suit up for the Flying Titans in the 2024-24 Premier Volleyball league (PVL) All-Filipino Conference until the end of the year.
Flying Titans head coach Dante Alinsunurin revealed the status of his veteran playmaker, whose current physical state is far from ideal. Nagging knee injuries she’s been dealing with for roughly a year now have held her back from playing extended minutes since the previous season. The decision to sideline her for the next month at least was also per the advice of the team’s physicians.
In Wong’s absence, Alinsunurin went back and forth between seasoned setter Jem Ferrer and Alas Pilipinas playmaker Mars Alba in her second full season as a Flying Titan. Meanwhile, now taken off Choco Mucho’s troubling injury list is Des Cheng who has recovered from an ACL tear, as well as Kat Tolentino who is still managing an auditory problem she’s dealt with since last year.
