MANILA, October 17 ------ Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) touted several improvements to its services for passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. Travelers bound for non-visa destinations can now use kiosks near Aisle E when checking in. Instead of having their documents verified at the check-in counter, they would only need to scan their itinerary receipt's barcode or enter the booking reference number. Passports can be scanned at the kiosk for verification and head straight to the boarding gate after printing the boarding passes. Documents that need further verification can be checked at the bag drop counters, CEB said in a news release.
During travel disruptions, affected passengers at Terminal 3 may simply show their boarding passes at the following accredited stores to avail of meals: 7-Eleven, Bus Gate Goodies, Chatime, Ebg, Global Topps and Kaishu. "CEB will also work on partnering with stores at NAIA Terminal 4 so that passengers that pass through this terminal may also use this benefit," CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero told the Philippine News Agency. Romero added that the two features are already implemented at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
In a statement, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co lauded the airline's efforts to improve passenger experience. "These initiatives are in line with our overall goal to make traveling easier and more enjoyable to passengers passing through NAIA," he said.
MIAA has activated "Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Barangay and SK Elections and Undas 2023" and expects about 1.2 million passengers to pass through NAIA over 10-day period starting Oct. 27. In a previous statement, Co said daily passenger traffic period could exceed 130,000, surpassing last year's average of 94,000 passengers daily during the All Saints’ and All Souls’ (Nov. 1 and 2) holidays. In 2019 or before the pandemic, the average was 129,000 passengers daily.
