Carlos Alvarez eyes fourth straight win in ONE Friday Fights return

November 30 ------ Carlos “Limitless” Alvarez is ready to take the next step when he returns to Lumpinee Boxing Stadium to take on Nachyn Sat at ONE Friday Fights 43 on Friday, Dec. 1.

The Team Lakay star is eyeing his fourth win on the weekly fight card, having beaten all three of his previous opponents in impressive fashion. He even scored a D’arce choke over Title Chai in less than one minute in his last outing. Now that he sees his goal nearing, he doesn’t plan on stopping. “I’m so happy that I get to keep on competing, and I get to have all these opportunities to display my skills. I’d like to thank ONE Championship and coach Mark [Sangiao]. I’m excited because if I win here, I could get that ONE Championship main roster contract,” Alvarez said. “Hopefully, I get that contract. One thing I’ve noticed, the fighters here in Friday Fights, after they get their fourth straight win, they move onto the main roster. But if that’s not enough, then I’ll just keep grinding.”

He knows it won’t come easy for him though, as he expects a rough match against his Mongolian counterpart. The Team Lakay stud sees a big, well-rounded fighter that’s going to make it difficult for him to close the distance and impose his will. “I’ve seen his fights. He’s got a strong body and he’s tall, he’s 5 foot 10. He’s got great kicks, and he has the reach advantage,” he said. “I’ve seen his ground game. He has a lot of counter submissions and escapes, but we have a game plan for him, and I believe that we have the best one for this match.” he added.

But he also believes that he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve, particularly when it comes to boxing and overall MMA, and that’s what he plans to show in this match. “I’ll just mix up my game – strike, take it to the ground, and work from there. It’s an MMA fight, so that’s what I intend to do,” he said. “I feel like he’s lacking in boxing. I’m looking at his boxing, that’s where his holes are. I think if I set it up properly, I can land that big one on him. I can also take him down and control him.” he added.

Believing he’s just one impressive performance away from his goal, Alvarez plans to leave it all in the ring. “That’s the motivation. I have to keep grinding to get an opportunity to join the main roster, and that’s why I’m grateful to be given an opportunity to compete in ONE Friday Fights.”
