August 19 ------ Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has been diagnosed with pneumonia weeks after testing positive for COVID-19, his wife Lani Mercado confirmed.

On her official Facebook page, the Bacoor City Mayor sought prayers for her husband whom she revealed was rushed to the hospital for treatment after developing pneumonia more than a week after contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. “Father God pls help my husband. He is being rushed to the hospital. His latest X-ray shows that he has developed pneumonia and isolation in a regular facility is no longer ideal. Hospital care badly needed,” she stated. She added: “Father we lift him up to you.”

It was on August 9 when Bong Revilla tested for COVID-19.

He continued: “I was last in the Senate on Monday before all of this, and was last out on Tuesday nung 40th day ni Daddy. Thank you for your prayers.” Revilla isn’t the first senator to get the virus. Other senators who was diagnosed include Juan Miguel Zubiri, Koko Pimentel, and Sonny Angara.
