Bianca Bustamante to debut in 2024 Formula Winter Series

February 8 ------ Filipina racer Bianca Bustamante is set to debut in 2024 Formula Winter Series in Spain ahead of F1 Academy 2024 season. Bustamante is slated to compete in the first three out of four rounds of the second edition of the championship series representing the Spanish-based GRS Team. “I’m looking forward to competing in the Formula Winter Series in Spain! This will mark my debut in this series, where I'll have the chance to test my skills against some of the top F4 drivers in Europe,” she said in a statement.

The 19-year-old speedster worked alongside Warren Hughes, a renowned racing driver and her coach from the McLaren Driver Development programme, for several pre-season tests ahead of Round 1. The first round will see her skills put under the test in the mix of long straights and tight corners of the Circuito de Jerez from February 9 to 11. Round 2 will take place from February 16 to 19 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, the track where she clinched her first-ever career win during the inaugural season of F1 Academy in 2023. She will conclude her Formula Winter Series stint at Ciudad del Motor de Aragón from March 1 to 3, less than a week before she starts on F1 Academy where she will compete for a full season with ART Grand Prix and as part of McLaren’s development programme.

The Formula Winter races will be streamed on the series’ official website and YouTube account.
