MANILA, October 4 ------ Bianca Bustamante will see more track action as she prepares to compete in the final rounds of Euro 4 Championship and the Italian F4 Championship in October. Both races will take place at the Monza circuit, also known as "The Temple of Speed," which saw the 19-year-old Filipina racer clinch her second career win during the F1 Academy 2023 season.
The third and final round of Euro 4 Championship will take place on October 4-6, while that of the Italian F4 Championship will be on October 25-27. This will be the debut appearance of ART Grand Prix, Bustamante's team in F1 Academy, in the Formula 4 category of FIA-sanctioned championships. She will compete alongside her F1 Academy teammate Aurelia Corine Nobels in both races. "I'm very excited to head back to Monza, one of my favorite grand prix circuits. Euro 4 and Italian F4 are arguably the toughest F4 championships in the world, so it definitely means we will face tougher competition. It also means going back into a mixed male-female grid, but I love that because I want to compete against the best drivers," she said in a statement.
Her outing in the challenging stretch of long straights and slow chicanes of the Italian track may boost her chances to improve in the remaining rounds of F1 Academy, which will resume in December for rounds 6 and 7. Bustamante, the first female McLaren development driver, currently ranks 7th in the drivers' standings of the all-female championship series. She has yet to add more to her 57 points after failing to score points in the last two rounds that took place in Zandvoort and Singapore.
Bustamante's P2 finish in round 2 in Miami remains to be her only podium finish so far this year.
