B.League: Ramos, Parks Jr., Edu rack up victories in Japan

March 7 ------ Dwight Ramos, Ray Parks Jr., and AJ Edu all recently helped their respective squads in their assignments in the 2024-25 season of the Japan B.League. The former Gilas Pilipinas teammates stood out for Levanga Hokkaido, Osaka Evessa, and Nagasaki Velca, respectively to chalk up victories in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Ramos scattered 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal in Levanga’s 84-79 win over the Koshigaya Alphas at the Hokkai Kita-yale. This was Levanga’s 14th win in 40 appearances, and it allowed them to sit in fifth place in the Eastern Division. Parks Jr., for his part, tallied 25 markers, five boards, and four dimes in Osaka’s 107-81 triumph over the Shiga Lakes at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena.

Following this game, Osaka moved to two games above .500, 21-19, which is enough for the third spot in the Western Division. Edu, meanwhile, was a pillar in Nagasaki’s 92-86 win over the Saga Ballooners at the Saga Arena. The youthful Gilas big man posted a 10-point, nine-rebound performance in their 18th win in 40 games. They are now sixth in the Western Division.

On the other hand, Matthew Wright had the opposite fate in their latest game as the Kawasaki Brave Thunders were dumped by Seahorses Mikawa, 104-91, at the Kawasaki Todoroki Arena. Wright finished with 18 points, two rebounds, and an assist, but these all went for naught as they fell to 13-27, enough for No.8 in the Central Division.
