B.League: Parks Jr. helps Osaka overcome Kyoto, Ramos stays solid for Levanga

April 8 ------ Ray Parks Jr. helped Osaka Evessa overcome Kyoto Hannaryz, while Dwight Ramos remained solid for Levanga Hokkaido in the 2024-25 season of the Japan B.League. Parks Jr. scattered seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block, as Osaka tallied its second straight win vs. Kyoto, 95-94 at the Ookini Arena Maishama. This allowed Osaka to return to above .500 with a 25-24 record, and they now sit in third place in the Western Division after this win.
Also on the winning end was Roosevelt Adams, as the Yamagata Wyverns moved past the Kobe Storks, 82-73, for a bounce-back victory at the Glion Arena Kobe. Adams only had five points, three rebounds, and a steal, and this was enough for Yamagata to move up to 21-35, enough for fifth place in the Eastern Division. On the other hand, despite the loss, Dwight Ramos showed out in Levanga’s latest matchup against the Ryukyu Golden Kings.
Ryukyu dumped Levanga, 72-64, at Hokkai Kita-yale, but Ramos’ 18 markers, nine rebounds, a steal, and a block served as a silver lining for Hokkaido. This was their 31st loss in 49 games, currently enough for No.5 in the Eastern Division. Also on the losing end was Matthew Wright and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders who faltered against FE Nagoya, 82-73, at the Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.
Despite the loss, Kawasaki’s 35th in 49 games, Wright still impressed by delivering 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Kawasaki remained at No.8 in the Central Division after this game. Meanwhile, AJ Edu was decent in Nagasaki Velca’s 79-76 loss to San-en NeoPhoenix at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium. The Gilas Pilipinas big man posted a seven-point, 12-rebound game with four rejections in the 26th loss of Nagasaki in 48 games, and they are now sixth in the Western Division.
Lastly, Geo Chiu had two rebounds for the also-ran Ehime Orange Vikings in their 82-58 loss to Veltez Shizuoka at the Konohana Arena. This was their 51st loss in 55 games, and they remained seventh in the Western Division.
