Arjo Atayde grateful for ContentAsia 2024 victory with 'Cattleya Killer'




MANILA, September 6 ------ Filipino actor Arjo Atayde expressed his gratitude after his ContentAsia Awards 2024 victory with "Cattleya Killer." Atayde won the Best Male Lead in a TV Program/Series for his performance as Anton dela Rosa in "Cattleya Killer," besting 5 other actors with GMA's Dingdong Dantes for his role in "Royal Blood" as Napoy Terrazo. 

  

During the awarding ceremony held in Taipei, Taiwan, Atayde said that many people helped him gather strength make the show possible. "Thank you to everyone. I'm forever indebted to all the actors that I work with, to the people behind the camera, to everyone who's helped me be here, gather all this power to actually pull through this good series," the actor said in his speech. 

  

He also thanked his family for being supportive to him amid his busy schedule, especially his wife, Maine Mendoza. "It's my first time in Taipei, this is such a reward for a first time here. Last but not the least, my family. Thank you so much to my family for supporting so much, to my wife who understands so much of the hard work that of obviously that we have to pull through to be able to do this," he said. 

  

Atayde also thanked ABS-CBN and the Filipino people for giving him the opportunity to represent the Philippines. "To ABS-CBN, Tita Cory Vidanes, Sir Carlo Katigbak, and of course, to Sir Rowell Bayani, thank you so much for this opportunity. To the Filipinos, to ABS-CBN, maraming, maraming salamat po," he said. 

  

Meanwhile, youth oriented show "Zoomers" also got the Gold Award for Best Asian Short-form drama/series which was accepted by the show's director Theodore Boborol. Star Cinema's "A Very Good Girl" got the Best Asian Feature Film/Telemovie Bronze Award. "Trespassers" from Nippon TV got the gold while GMA's "Firefly" got the silver trophy.
