Alexa Ilacad admits Nash Aguas was her first love, inspiration behind song ‘Paano’

February 28 ------ Alexa Ilacad looked back on her past relationship with Nash Aguas, disclosing that the actor was her first love and even the inspiration behind her song “Paano.” Ilacad spoke about the heartbreak she had been through, and what she did to cope, in an exclusive interview with broadcaster Karen Davila, on Davila’s YouTube channel. “I tried to establish a strong persona just so people couldn’t hurt me,” she said. “I’ve been hurt so much so I thought I could maybe protect myself.”

When asked by Davila how she had been hurt, and if it is a case of “first love,” Ilacad answered, “That’s part of it po.” As Davila then turned more specific and asked, “He was your first love? Nash?” Ilacad answered, “Yes.” Ilacad also would not utter Aguas’ name when asked by Davila who was the person in her heart when she wrote the song “Paano,” but as Davila asked, “Si Nash?” Ilacad answered, “Opo.” (Yes.)

“We’re not friends but I have forgiven him, even if he never really said sorry or asked for forgiveness, but it’s okay. I forgave him for my own peace of mind and the peace in my heart,” Ilacad added.

Aside from her past relationship, Ilacad also opened up about her developing friendship with KD Estrada, which she described as a healthy relationship. “What I love about KD is he helps me grow and I help him grow so we’re like two plants watering each other and growing at the same time,” she added. “It feels really nice, it feels really healthy and I feel lucky that I have a person in my life that finally makes me feel calm.”

Ilacad and Aguas first paired up in ABS-CBN’s youth-oriented TV series “Love U” in 2012. Though they had a “mutual understanding” for almost five years, Ilacad said they were not officially in a relationship back then. Aguas is now in a relationship with fellow “Goin’ Bulilit” alum Mika Dela Cruz, whom he revealed to have courted after his breakup with Ilacad.
