Alden Richards advocates for running, helps organize fun run for a cause

March 18 ------ Alden Richards has now turned his running hobby into an advocacy!According to Aubrey Carampel's report in “24 Oras”, the Asia’s Multimedia Star helped organize a fun run for a cause event for the Movie Works Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), of which he is a board member. “We're calling it ‘Lights, Camera, Run! Takbo para sa Pelikulang Pilipino.’ So all the proceeds of the fun run will go directly to Mowelfund,” Alden said.

Meanwhile, veteran actress and Mowelfund board of trustees member, Boots Anson Rodrigo, shared they hope the fun run fosters camaraderie among the members and non-members of the film industry. “It's a health-oriented activity at bukod po dun sa pagiging health-oriented nito, ito po inaasahan namin na mag-fo-foster ng camaraderie, goodwill, pagsasama between 'yung mga members ng industriya at 'yung mga non-members na meron pong puso para sa pelikulang Pilipino,” she said.

Alden also invited several showbiz personalities and celebrities, including his friends and running buddies Barbie Forteza and Kristoffer Martin. Also joining the fun run is “24 Oras” Game Changer host and Kapuso sportscaster Martin Javier, who recently participated in the 2025 Tokyo Marathon. “Napakagandang initiative nito. Lalong-lalo na po ngayon napakaraming into health and wellness, at saka 'yung running ngayon 'yung medyo go-to na exercise," said Martin. The fun run, which will be held on May 11 at Mall of Asia, is open to the public. According to Alden, runners have the option to go in their favorite movie costume, may it be local or international.
