Judy Ann Santos wins Best Actress award at the 41st Cairo International Film Festival

December 2 ------ Judy Ann Santos was elated after finding out that she won a Best Actress Award at the 41st Cairo International Film Festival. The Starla lead actress bagged the award for her portrayal in Brillante Mendoza’s film Mindanao. he admitted that winning the award was surreal and she only realized that it was finally true after the acclaimed director himself confirmed the news. “Gusto kong isiping nananaginip lang ako.. baka hindi pa ko gising siguro? In denial pa ko sa simula.. pero nung si direk Brillante na ang nag text sa akin.. unti unti na kong natauhan at naiyak.. Grabe!” she wrote.

She then expressed her gratitude after winning the said award. "Napakarami at napakalaki ang dapat kong ipagpasalamat sa Panginoon... hindi pa natatapos ang 2019, binusog na niya ng sobra sobra ang puso ko sa napakaraming bagong experiences ang binigay niya sa akin... iba't ibang lugar ang napuntahan ko sa iba't ibang larangan ng industriyang mahal ko at patuloy kong inaaral,” she said. “Para sa atin ito guyzzzz... @brillante_mendoza maraming salamat sa tiwala at pagtyatyaga sa akin...My heart is soooooo full!! Iba ang Pilipino! MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!” she added. Mindanao is one of the official entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
